Booking Deposits and Reservation Confirmation/booking terms and conditions
To secure your adventure with Astute Africa Safaris, a tiered deposit system is utilized based on the duration and location of your itinerary. A confirmed reservation requires a deposit ranging from 10% to 50% of the total tour cost, with the remaining balance payable no later than 15 days prior to the safari commencement date. The specific deposit requirements are calculated as follows:
- 10% Deposit: Applicable for one-day safari excursions.
- 20% Deposit: Applicable for 2–3 day safari tours.
- 30% Deposit: Applicable for 4–6 day safari tours.
- 40% Deposit: Applicable for 7–12 day safari tours.
- 50% Deposit: Applicable for all Tanzania safaris or combined Kenya-Tanzania itineraries lasting 6 days or more.
- Last minute bookings within 30 days to arrival date must be paid in full.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
In the event that you must cancel your booking, notification must be submitted in writing. Cancellation fees are determined by the proximity of the cancellation date to the scheduled departure. The percentage of the total tour cost forfeited is calculated using the following schedule:
- 60 Days or More Before Departure: A full refund of the payment will be issued, less applicable bank transfer fees and a 2.5% administrative operation cost.
- 36 – 60 Days Before Departure: A cancellation fee of 10% of the total tour price will be charged.
- 8 – 35 Days Before Departure: A cancellation fee of 25% to 50% will be applied, depending on the specific policies of the booked lodges and camps.
- 0 – 7 Days Before Departure: A 100% cancellation fee applies; no refunds will be issued for “no-shows” or late cancellations.
Payment Methods
All payments, including deposits and final balances, must be settled via secure bank wire transfers. Please ensure that all transaction fees are covered by the sender to ensure the full invoice amount is received by Astute Africa Safaris.
